40 Years Ago Today Keith Had a Dream...
Mood:  cheeky
On May 6, 1965, guitarist Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones came up with the riff that formed the foundation of the song "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction.'' He was staying at a motel in Clearwater, Florida, at the time.

The Stones will announce their world tour, as well as details of their new album release and are rumored to play two live songs-one from the new album and one classic number. Now Playing: Press Conference to be held within next 2 weeks
Stay tuned Stones fans, because the Rolling Stones will officially announce their tour within the next 2 weeks. It is then that we can begin to book hotels and make travel arrangements and buy tickets! Many rumors are swirling about tentative tour dates already. In fact my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA has announced on WDVE radio that the Stones will play here at PNC Park on Sept. 28...let's hope that is true! I am personally looking forward to the club gigs, but will take anything I can get. I hope to attend the press conference and if I do, I will certainly give a full report here on my website.

Today's Rumors
Well, the speculation continues. Boston radio stations are reporting that the Stones will play Fenway park 8/20 & 8/21. We'll see. A good source did say tonight that a late August Boston tour start is in the works, so it may be true. Who knows. When it's official, I'll believe it. Until then, no point in guessing.

Mick & Keith in Paris Working on New Album
Mood:  happy
Well, Mick and Keith are in France again working on the new album. Ronnie has a show coming up tonight and after his gigs are finished reportedly he and Bernard Fowler will also join the boys in France. We haven't heard much from the boys recently, so this is welcome news.

Nikki Sudden Treasure Island A Rare Find
Mood:  rushed
Thanks to CD for giving me the heads up via his own blog about the release of Nikki Sudden's new cd Treasure Island. I have since purchased this cd after listening to the online clips at www.nikkisudden.com and I have listened the cd daily on my car stereo to & from work. This is the best rock & roll/blues album I have heard all year. If you are a Stones fan or Dylan fan I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Nikki is a Stones fan, coincidentally we first "met" waiting in line for the Stones Shepherd's Bush tickets in London in 1999. Lastly I ran into Nikki in Amsterdam in the summer of 2003 during the Licks Tour. This is a fine piece of work and Nikki collaborated with some Stones connections-Mick Taylor & Ian MacLagan play on this cd. I give Treasure Island ***** 5 Stars

Wildwood Weekend 2004
Mood:  party time!
Now that the Memory Motel is just a memory (we had our fan gatherings there since '99), Stones fans from all over the country got together this past Labor Day weekend at the Adventurer Inn in Wildwood Crest, NJ.

And when Stones fans get together, they can party! Thanks to the organizational skills of Michaelene & Theresa, we spent the night together with 3 Stones tribute bands: Shattered on Friday, Hot Rocks on Saturday and Dead Flowers on Sunday. What a beautiful buzz! As the back of the Stones Planet t-shirts read.

It was great to party with ya'll. I think next summer we'll be on tour ;-)
